TOM SAWYER coming to Shreveport

Mark Twain's classic story comes to exuberant musical life in this Broadway adaptation of America's favorite book. Set in 1840's St. Petersburg, Mo., Tom Sawyer matches wits with his stern Aunt Polly and bratty half-brother Sid, falls in love with the beautiful, feisty Becky Thatcher and goes on the adventure of a lifetime with Becky and that irresistible renegade, Huckleberry Finn while trying to fend off the evil villian Injun Joe.

Filled with foot-stomping, toe-tapping songs by Don Schlitz ("The Gambler"), and a warm, funny book by Ken Ludwig ("Lend Me A Tenor"), The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer is a tale of thrilling escapes, comedy and inspiration for the whole family.

Classes Booming/Things Going Well

Hello everyone,

Things are going well at Peter Pan Players and we are getting more students every week. The kids are having a blast. They are completely enjoying the classes and are looking forward to our next two productions of "I Am An Actor, Trey (III)" and "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical". The last show "Happy Birthday Mr. B.B. Wolf" went well and the audiences left the theatre singing and laughing, in fact, most of the kids were trying to recreate the tap number they saw on the stage. It was great fun.

Show Going Well

The Peter Pan Players' current production of Drew Edward Hunter's "Happy Birthday Mr. B.B. Wolf" is going well. Our houses aren't as big as we would like but the audience is laughing and enjoying themselves. The sets are brilliant with bright colors and cartoon looking trees and the kids on stage are having a blast. Tonight, Thursday January 10th 2008, we are having our Benefit Night where underpriviledged children get to come and experience the joys of theatre and Peter Pan Players Director Trey Jackson will take them on a tour of Marjorie Lyons Playhouse after the show. It will be a special night for Trey Jackson and he hopes for all envolved. He hopes you can join us for the show tonight and the rest of the weekend as Peter Pan Players finishes their run of the show. Box Office number is 869-5242 and it is open from 11:00 to 4:00. Tickets are $10 for kids 12 and under and $15 for adults.
